Mrs. Alivia Maus

Welcome to Second Grade! My name is Alivia Maus pronouced Moss. I am excited to be your child's teacher this school year.  Second grade is an exciting year as children learn many new concepts and skills.

I began teaching at Dicken in 2013 and have taught 1st and 2nd grades at Dicken. Prior to teaching at Dicken I worked in an early childhood center with children birth through age 6, I have been a teaching Assistant, After School Program Coordinator, Substitute Teacher, Fourth Grade Teacher, Fifth Grade Teacher, and a Reading Intervention Teacher. In 2017 I had the honor of being named as an Ann Arbor Public School Exceptional Teacher.

My husband Brian and I both grew up in the Ann Arbor area and are very close to our families, we are very lucky to live within a few miles of both our parents.  We live in Ypsilanti and have four children, Isabelle, Brennen, Parker, and Aedan. We currently have 1 former Dicken Dolphin, two current Dolphins, and one future Dolphin.   We love being Dicken Dolphins and part of this wonderful community. On the weekends you will find us on the soccer fields or attending basketball games with our kiddos. If you see us, stop and say hi. When we aren't attending our kids sporting events we enjoy U of M sports, working around the house, and spending time with our friends and family.

As a parent myself I know that you are sending me your most pride and joy each day.  Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to be your child’s teacher this year and be a part of their life.  I promise to give my all to teach, inspire, motivate, and encourage your child each day.  Thank you for your commitment to your child's education and success.
